Quantic Dream, renowned for narrative masterpieces like Detroit: Become Human, ventures into multiplayer with Spellcasters Chronicles, a free-to-play, team-based 3v3 action-strategy game. Players embody powerful mage commanders, summoning hordes of creatures from seven schools of magic, casting devastating spells, building structures for lane control, and commanding colossal Titans in mystical arenas. Core mechanics blend third-person combat, aerial flight for dynamic battles, and deck-building to craft personalized strategies—whether aggressive fire swarms, defensive sustains, or burst offenses. The lore unfolds in a godless world where Spellcasters channel the ancient Source energy to weave fate and shape destiny through seasonal community choices impacting gameplay and narrative.

Quantic Dream announced the inaugural Closed Beta Weekend, launching December 4th to December 8th on Steam for selected players from Europe and North America. Building on a TwitchCon demo, this test introduces six unique Spellcasters, each with archetype-defining passives: Swamp Witch for swarm scaling; Astral Monk for burst damage; Iron Sorcerer for durable structures; Fire Elementalist for mobile aggression; Mystic Scribe for team support; and Stone Shaman for defensive control. Beta participants access the Mausoleum arena, 11 creatures, 8 spells, 2 buildings, and 2 Titans to experiment with deck-building synergies and core loops of summoning, spellcrafting, and team synergy.

Game Director Gregorie Diaconu emphasizes player feedback's role in refining combat pacing, balance, tech stability, and beyond, fostering a collaborative evolution toward Early Access and a second beta early 2026 with expanded content. Register via the Steam page or official site; unselected players remain eligible for future tests. Quantic Dream, partnered with NetEase since 2022, self-publishes this bold genre shift, inviting mages to cast, fly, fight, and cooperate in redefining interactive strategy.
