Marvel's Wolverine has received PlayStation 5 patch 1.001.006, a follow-up to the mid-September hotfix that only lowered the opacity of Logan’s scent trails. The new build adds separate on and off switches for three collectible Senses systems that players have complained about since the September 15 launch. Whisky Bottle scent trails, Material Crate audio clues, and Nightmare Door roots can now be disabled under Settings, Gameplay, Senses. Story-critical Senses still appear in the world. That means mission-driven tracking, such as following Jean Grey in The One That Got Away, stays visible even if every collectible toggle is flipped off. Using Wolverine’s Crate Finder or Whiskey Finder Adaptations also overrides the new switches, so players who want the full assist for trophy cleanup can turn it back on without changing the rest of the HUD.

The patch is not only a UI change. Insomniac listed crash fixes drawn from logs and community reports, a stuck-on-tree progression bug in The One That Got Away, misaligned claws in Photo Mode, objects that turned white after long sessions, and an overlapping bathroom sign in the casino caused by a UV mapping error. A previous update on September 19 had already dimmed the blue trails after they became a running joke online. The studio said then that full toggles were under evaluation. Version 1.001.006 is that next step, aimed at optional loot rather than the entire sensory suite. The default setting still leaves the indicators on, so the change is optional in both directions. Platinum hunters have 42 trophies that include every Material Crate, every Whisky Bottle, and every Nightmare Door, which is why the studio split collectible guidance from story guidance instead of removing Senses outright.

Marvel's Wolverine is a PlayStation 5 exclusive from Insomniac, set in the same continuity as the studio’s Spider-Man games. Logan is an amnesiac who rejoins Team X while investigating missing mutants and his own past. Combat is built around claws, a healing factor, and those Senses tools that paint paths across the map. Player store ratings have been stronger than many critic averages, with tens of thousands of owner reviews landing near the high end of the PlayStation Store scale. The new toggles do not rewrite that reception, but they answer the most repeated request from the first ten days of play. Insomniac has not said whether story-critical trails will ever get their own switch. For now, the September 25 patch gives players a cleaner screen while they hunt crates and bottles, and a shorter list of crash reports while they finish the campaign. Further support patches remain possible as the studio works through remaining reports.
