✪ The Nightfall Specialists Venture to the Nordic North Sea

Tripwire Interactive has launched the fourth seasonal update for Killing Floor 3, titled Operation: Shadow Hunter, available free for a limited time on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Season 4 sends Nightfall specialists to the Nordic North Sea to explore a mire-infested oil rig and the horrors it has unleashed. The update adds the highly anticipated Gunslinger perk with dual-wielded pistols and high-tech gadgets for dispatching Zeds, completes phase two of dual-wield support for remaining sidearms, introduces Dr. Moorcroft as a new boss, and adds the Suicidal difficulty level between Hard and Hell-on-Earth. Players also receive a Supply Pass refresh with free and paid tracks, performance optimizations, new achievements, quality of life improvements, and more. To celebrate the game’s first anniversary, Killing Floor 3 was free-to-play from July 23 through July 27 on all platforms, granting full access including the new update, Onslaught map, and text chat. Progress saves after purchase, and all editions plus Seasonal DLC Passes were discounted 50 percent.

✪ Dr. Moorcroft adds the 'Suicidal' Difficulty Level

The Operation: Shadow Hunter narrative missions focus on Dr. Emmanuel Moorcroft, who has ascended to his final dangerous form, while the 'Suicidal' difficulty level also ramps up the challenge. Nightfall must stop him from opening a larger rift into the Dreadzone capable of swallowing cities or the world. The new Survival Map is the Oil Rig, also known as Hastur Oil Platform, where a routine North Sea drilling operation struck mire and drew Moorcroft’s followers to seize the platform. The layout centers on a middle platform with diverging paths, stairs to multiple levels, external catwalks, hallways to points of interest, plus zip lines and ladders for vertical movement to avoid being surrounded by enemy forces during intense survival waves against the bio-engineered threats.

✪ Introducing the Highly-Anticipated Gunslinger Perk

The Gunslinger perk returns specializing in fast dual-wielded pistol combat for players with nerves of steel and precise aim. Gunslingers deploy futuristic gravity grenades that implode to pull in nearby Zeds before exploding with concussive force, and the Fatal Focus gadget, a pair of smartguns that fire homing projectiles at enemy weakpoints. The grenade, gadget, and more can be improved via a complete skill tree system that allows extensive customization of abilities tailored to rapid precision shooting under pressure in the co-op action horror environment of Killing Floor 3.

✪ The Nightfall Specialists' Armory Expands

New weapons include four dual-wielded primary pairs and a sidearm usable by all perks: Dual Law 2058 Bringers Revolvers, a modern 1858 variant trading ammo capacity for raw firepower; Dual Night Adders Select Fire Pistols offering semi- and fully-automatic 9mm modes; Dual Desert Eagles .50 Cal. Pistols delivering destructive hand-cannon power against large enemies; Dual AF2081-A1s Double Barrel Pistols with two barrels each for doubled firepower and ammo use; and the Der Konig Semi-Auto Pistol, a reliable fast-firing 9mm sidearm usable singly or dual-wielded. New mods include Sonic Tracer Rounds that mark targets for bonus damage, Holographic Pistol Sight for rapid acquisition, Volter-Shock Underbarrel for electrical area attacks, Der Konig Compensator to reduce recoil, Five-Round Conversion Cylinder for more powerful ammunition, and Powered Polymer Mag that boosts damage at the cost of capacity, with existing mods also supporting the new weapons.

✪ Dr. Moorcroft has Ascended to his Final Form

Boss Moorcroft has merged with his mire experiments into a muscular form bristling with organic armaments, becoming the ultimate doomsday weapon. In multi-phase combat he shields and drains via clots to heal, summons Zed and Mire hordes, and employs techno-organic rockets, small arms, gas, mortars, and grenades while repositioning. Suicidal difficulty returns as a stepping stone for smoother progression to the toughest fights. Dual-wield sidearms phase two now covers the Medic’s KH-380, Sharpshooter’s Disciple, and Firebug’s Pyre .357, so all sidearms support single or dual use. Season 4 Supply Pass offers 100 new rewards on free and paid tracks, including Horzine Mark 8 Armor for all specialists. Passes can be purchased anytime, Supply Points are earned through gameplay, and neither expires.
