PixelsCove Games has announced that Hundred Nights: DIFU has officially entered alpha stage development. This city builder management simulation indie game is set in the ancient Eastern hell underworld known as DIFU. Inspired by the Two Point series, Prison Architect, and Tiny Glade, it combines classic simulation gameplay with unique cultural elements, humor, and a 3D cartoony art style featuring ancient Chinese details. Players step into the role of the newly hired Head of Underworld, tasked with restoring the broken hell and facilitating the rebirth of as many souls as possible. The game emphasizes deep land customization, soul management, and efficient operations in a vibrant afterlife setting. A new gameplay trailer titled “Life in the Afterlife” provides an early look at alpha features, highlighting the blend of management sim mechanics with Eastern mythology.

Core gameplay revolves around vast underworld creation and terraforming. Players can customize terrain size and height, select natural decorations like trees, rocks, and bones, and shape landscapes including mountains, floating islands, and the legendary eighteen levels of hell. Soul judgement, punishment, and rebirth form the central loop, where facilities are built to process souls efficiently toward reincarnation. Dynamic workplace management is crucial: hire soulkeepers with varied abilities, balance efficiency to prevent long queues that turn souls into destructive Grudges, and apply strategies for optimal performance. Fengdu City serves as a hub where souls satisfy needs such as food, entertainment, sleep, and homesickness, generating resources while enjoying their afterlife. The Steam page details additional mechanics like punishing souls to cleanse karma, gaining D-Cash, using decorations for efficiency boosts, and managing employee satisfaction with flexible styles from high-pressure overtime to work-life balance.

Hundred Nights: DIFU stands out with unique cultural tastes, featuring fun interactions, humorous scripts, broadcasts, and encounters with legends from ancient Chinese myths. Players explore stories with different outcomes, such as interactions with figures like Wukong. The debut title from PixelsCove Games prioritizes community-focused development and indie spirit. A first closed playtest is planned for the second half of 2026. The game supports multiple languages including English and Chinese, with system requirements suited for mid-to-high range PCs. It promises diversified management strategies, visual effects, and a passionate take on simulation gaming with Eastern underworld flair.
