News: Hellheart Breaker is coming to PC and Consoles in 2027
Hellheart Breaker is a genre-blending action, dating sim, dungeon crawler, and roguelite from BattleBrew Productions, the Singapore studio behind Cuisineer, with Red Dunes Games of Abu Dhabi publishing alongside the team. It is slated for PC and consoles in 2027, with a planned PC window of Q2 2027, single-player play, English text support, and a demo already available to download. The game is set in an Asian-inspired Underworld filled with smoke and neon and styled after 1920s Shanghai. Players awaken in a forgotten bathhouse room with no memory and an ominous prophecy hanging over them, then become new residents of Aashraya, the last remaining city in the Underworld. From that cramped beginning the goal is escape: fight upward through relentless challenges while uncovering who the protagonist really is. Monster girls chosen for romance grant powerful new abilities. Those left behind can become the bosses standing in the way. Love and war share the same path out of the depths, and every bond can open a route or close one.
Aashraya is built around seven clans, each with its own agenda, and seven elemental skill trees taught by Clan Scions. Figures such as a Naga princess, an Oni blacksmith, a Kitsune courtesan, and an Asuran enforcer bring their own histories, troubles, and ambitions. Walking beside a Scion can mean friendship, rivalry, or romance, and dating one of them is a way to learn their powers and carry those gifts into later runs. Rejecting a clan’s ideals can turn that same character into an enemy. Combat supports that branching pressure with thirty-five weapons, including the jian and katar, plus augments that reshape abilities. Seven worlds wait to be explored through procedurally generated roguelite play, and nine endings are planned. The protagonist comes in two versions, or flavours. Outside the dungeons, customisable outfits, home decoration, fishing, and food stalls at the Kappa Market give the city a daily rhythm. Choices made among the clans can steer Aashraya toward salvation or downfall as the darkness of the Underworld rises.
The hook is that relationships change the fight. A run can begin with courtship, continue with borrowed elemental power, and end in a boss battle against someone who was never pursued. There are no tidy rules for that collision. Side systems keep the city feeling lived in between climbs, while multiple endings and two protagonist options push players to try different loyalties. BattleBrew frames itself as a small, battle-ready crew in Singapore and Southeast Asia with Cuisineer and earlier Battlesky Brigade work already behind it. Red Dunes Games presents itself as an independent developer and publisher focused on original stories that travel across cultures. Together they are aiming Hellheart Breaker at players who want romance, weapon mastery, clan politics, and roguelite repetition in one animated package, with a Steam wishlist open ahead of the 2027 release.
