Halo Fest is still scheduled for December 11 to 13 in Seattle even after Microsoft’s latest Xbox restructuring handed the next major Halo game to Activision and sharply reduced Halo Studios. A franchise lead confirmed the dates and venues have not changed. The first priority inside the team, the message said, is support for colleagues affected by the cuts, so extra event programming details will arrive later. Halo Fest marks 25 years since Halo: Combat Evolved. Friday, December 11 is an official concert at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony. Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13, take over the major halls of the Seattle Convention Center’s Arch building for panels, cosplay, community contests, play spaces, and esports. Concert tickets sold out early. Convention tickets sold out after a venue expansion that nearly doubled the footprint from the original Summit plan.

The confirmation lands in the same week as reports that Halo Studios was left with a small remaining staff and that a purpose-built Activision team, separate from Call of Duty, will develop the next numbered Halo. Fans have asked whether that shift could mean a lore reboot. No official story bible change has been announced alongside the Fest update. What has been restated is the live event itself: Steve Downes and Jen Taylor are still expected as Master Chief and Cortana guests, with more meet-and-greet time promised in a later schedule. Voice talent for 343 Guilty Spark and the multiplayer announcer has also been attached in earlier Fest updates. Esports plans still list a 150,000 dollar HCS Invitational plus open brackets for Halo Infinite, Halo 3, and Halo: Combat Evolved. Community contests for armor, maps, and films remain on the calendar, with some winners due to be revealed on the convention floor.

Halo Fest is a revival of events last held in 2010, 2011, and 2014, scaled far larger for the anniversary. Demand forced a second ticket drop in June that sold out in minutes and pushed attendance well past recent Halo World Championship figures. That public turnout is why organizers are treating the December weekend as locked even while the studio map around the series is being redrawn. Players watching from outside Seattle will not get a new campaign trailer from this announcement. They get a date that survived the layoff cycle and a reminder that the 25th anniversary gathering was planned as a community show rather than a software reveal. Further notes on panels and guest hours are expected once the studio says internal support work has room for event comms again. Until then, December 11 through 13 in Seattle is still the official Halo birthday party, Activision handover included.
