CCP Games launched Operation Nemesis, a free limited-time event for EVE Vanguard, their multiplayer sci-fi shooter set in the EVE Universe, on September 16, 2025, in London. Running until October 2, 2025, at 11:00 UTC, accessible via the EVE game launcher, this event introduces players to intense PvEvP combat as immortal Warclones—mercenary soldiers reborn in war suits—on hostile planets. The update features a narrative-driven New Player Journey, guiding newcomers as freshly awakened Warclones discovering their role in New Eden, alongside a new ‘Sulphur Basin’ map for 9v9 Insurgency battles, new enemies like the Punisher and Oppressor, and an expanded arsenal with a long-range rifle, shotgun, and energy pistol.

Operation Nemesis marks the first true connection between EVE Vanguard and EVE Online, CCP’s iconic spaceship MMO. Warclones’ ground missions uncover intel that reveals Upwell convoys in space, which EVE Online Capsuleers can raid, creating a shared economic and military impact across both games’ player-driven universe. Players align with factions and corporations through Expeditions, unlocking unique rewards, while new systems like proximity voice chat, Down-But-Not-Out revival, and UI refinements enhance immersion and teamwork. Weapon manufacturing in orbit allows customization to tackle evolving threats, building on feedback from the Groundbreak event to refine the experience.

This event is a major step toward EVE Vanguard’s Steam Early Access launch in Summer 2026, showcasing CCP’s vision for a persistent sandbox shooter where actions resonate across New Eden. Snorri Árnason, Executive Producer, emphasizes its role in delivering a sci-fi experience uniting ground and space warfare. Game Director Scott Davis highlights the London studio’s passion for blending brutal FPS combat with MMO depth, inviting players to squad up and shape the game. EVE Vanguard evolves through open development, offering more opportunities, weapons, and reasons to deploy, making every mission a story of survival and consequence.
