News: ATMOSFAR Demo Launches on Steam Next Fest
ATMOSFAR, an upcoming sci-fi survival adventure, has released its first playable demo as part of Steam Next Fest. Developed as a story-driven survival sandbox, the game invites players to explore a vast alien world aboard flying vessels. Set on the mysterious planet Tycos, players navigate an archipelago of gravity-defying floating islands known as Caligo Cays. The demo offers an exclusive first look at the opening hours, where players pilot the Utility Wasp to traverse tricky terrain, cruise above the clouds, scavenge scrap, deploy camps, and begin establishing an outpost on this uncharted planet. Survival challenges include extreme weather such as the deadly Firesky phenomenon, turbulent thunderstorms, ferocious sandstorms, and other occupational hazards faced by an astronomical pioneer.
Core gameplay blends aerial exploration with mobile base-building and resource management. Players operate and maintain a fleet of Wasps—specialized flying vessels with unique roles—including the Utility Wasp for gathering, the heavy-lifting Cargo Wasp, the planet-surveilling Scout, and the fast, powerful Fighter. At the heart of the experience is the colossal, customizable Cloud Cruiser, a mobile airbase that players pilot and upgrade with new modules, tools, and technologies to reach previously inaccessible heights and locations. The game supports both solo play and 1-4 player co-op, allowing friends to form a squadron for cooperative survival and exploration. Ground-based expeditions complement the sky-high adventures as players discover diverse biomes, flora, fauna, and the secrets of a collapsed colony.
ATMOSFAR is scheduled to launch into Steam Early Access later in 2026.
